Wireless Companies? No landline. West of Ireland.

    Hi all,
I signed up to my current, wireless, provider, 7 years ago, when there was zero choice.
I feel my current company is overpriced and is definitely slow. I'm fairly sure there are other companies in on the market now. Neighbours all have landlines so can offer no advice.
Can people suggest companies/other ideas to try? At the moment, things are so slow I'm sometimes using my 4g mobile hotspot for better speed.
I'm totally ignorant as to what's out there now for rural Ireland, with no landline?
    Thanks.

(Having looked at some companies, there seems to be a usage limit. What is 'average' usage? Is 100gb enough for an 'average' (I think low) user? YouTube, FB, some streaming...?)

My understanding is that you'd need some kind of landline to access fibre? The website requires a landline number.

Yes, it's a brand new network of fibre to the home which will give huge speeds of upto 1000meg. It is the best option if it's available to you. It does not use the existing copper lines but requires a new fibre dropwire to be installed which is a few hours work for them.

Use your eircode on the site, (check rural 300k)

Thank you! Looks like we're in. Am checking the companies that came up....
    Edited an hour later....
Hmmm.... most of these are more expensive than my current, local provider. I may go back to them and see what they can do.

If you're looking for faster speeds this is your best option and once installed leaves you futureproof for the next 20 years or more. The 150meg package shouldn't be much more than what you are already paying

    Hi again,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any other companies? My local company did not come up on highhorse's website suggestion, so I'm wondering if there are any others out there that are not part of the http://fibrerollout.ie/ website??

Have you tried Lightnet ? http://www.lightnet.ie/

Yep! That's my current provider. Didn't know if I could post their name. Turns out they do fibre now so I'm comparing prices. Just wondered if there were any others out there, seeing as Lightnet didn't come up on that 'national' database provided above.
