    Gday,
I have just received a letter from An Post  - Athlone Mail Centre Revenue Commissioners requesting a copy of the purchase invoice quting the parcel number.
They are holding three packages in total.
1 - Is this normal as I got two parcels through already and each parcel contains a customs declaration from the sender/seller of 40 usd. Should they not just go with that?
2 - The packages they have are a mix of two orders as they had to mix them around due to availability of the goods (records) and weight so the invoice would actually show extra records which I would prefer they did not see...they have said that if I do not have an invoice to forward on paypal details or a printout from the net detaining their costs? Is it possible to send them a link to the price of each good in each package? or how would you proceed?
3 - Neither package on their own would be above the €150 mark, would an post charge per package or all together bearing in mind I got three letters in the one envelope.
Has anyone had a similar issue?

    TIA

The threshold for VAT (assuming its outside the EU) is set at €26, not 150. You'll be liable either way.

If I were you Id politely ask them to bill it as one, because say its 3x €50:
    11.50 + €10
    11.50 + €10
    11.50 + €10
    €64.50

    vs

    €34.50 + 10 = €44.50.

Thats excluding any Duty applicable. Send them the paypal invoice as a PDF.

Thanks ED E - Yes they tried to charge an admin fee for each box/package for the total was coming to 95 euros. I argued that it was the same order (shown on the Invoice I forwarded to them) and they then taped all the boxes together and only charged me the one admin fee - 75 euros.
I was very tempted to send a different invoice for a smaller amount (the goods of which had snuck through customs already) but wasnt sure if they would check the contents.
