    Hi All

Time to sell my 2008 Alfa 159 2.4jtdm qtronic

Ill be starting a new job in a couple of weeks increasing my commute to 800km per week. The alfa is a cracking car but i feel something newer with less mileage on the clock will be better suited.

Budget is €15-17k + trade in or private sale of Alfa

    Must haves:
    Diesel
    Automatic
    Cruise Control
At least 170hp (Alfa is 210hp)

    Desirable:
    Auto wipers
    Android Auto
    Leather
    Parking sensors

Looking online there seems to be good value on Seat leon 2.0TDi FR DSG's from 2016ish.
They seem to fit the bill but i have never driven or sat in one?

    Appreciate any feedback or recommendations

You’ll only be able to get an FR DSG that isn’t 150bhp it you import as they didn’t sell them here.

I did about 1k a week in a 184bhp one for a year or so. Really good cars imo - comfy, reliable, engine is excellent for what it is, decent go, economical and for the money you won’t get much better in that class unless you go older. I used regularly average mid-50s to a tank Waterford to Cork.

If you’re coming from a bigger car and want space a VRS might be worth looking at as the Leon’s boot isn’t huge but they command a hefty premium.

Thanks for your reply, Glad to hear you liked it especially with commute similar to mine.

Yes, i was looking at the 184hp version in the UK. They are so much cheaper than the VRS it had be puzzled.

My commute will be Tipperary to Dublin. 30 mins of back roads and the rest motorway.

An Alfa Giulia ticks all the boxes but just way out of budget :(
