New car, haggling and price variance

I am thinking of buying a new car and I was wondering how much variance there is in dealers and price.

Lets take a Peugeot 3008 - new price advertised for say €30,000 how much haggle room is there on these prices and will they vary from dealer to dealer? or is the haggle room on how much they may offer you for your old car?

There is no standard of for example "3% off" or such
Do shop around and check prices from several sellers.
Prices will vary on trim levels, fuel type, automatic, etc etc
I suggest you write down a list of "must have's" and then call into a few places and see what they can do for you.

Trading in an old car will of course bring down price but maybe not by as much as you'd think.

Peugeot have a scrappage scheme, that's basically your discount if you don't have a trade in less what ever ball of scrap they were hoping to get. So a 4k max scrappage might get you 3k off without a trade in.

Isn't there a long waiting time on the new Peug 3008 due to demand? I cannot see them giving 3k or 4k discount on a car that's in short supply due to high demand.

add another 3mts if you want factory leather...there was a good few of the 3008 unreged in showrooms when I was shopping for a 5008, start adding the extras though and your pushing into Audi/Volvo/BMW territory.
