Sun holiday with a big family

    Hi,

I've been searching around for ideas but I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction as we've never been on a sun holiday before. We've been looking at Spain, Portugal or Lanzarote, but we're open to other suggestions.

There's 7 of us (three adults, and four kids aged 4,9,14, and 17). We're looking at going away somewhere in late March/April, as that's the only time we're all around. Would love to keep the accommodation in and around the 1000euro mark if possible. My Dad isn't fond of renting cars abroad so I'd like to eliminate that if we would could.

Self-catering villas seems to be the way to go, but there are so many options I wouldn't know how to pick one. Does anyone have any recommendations?

For the time of year you've mentioned, I'd be looking at Lanzarote or one of the other Canary islands just from a weather perspective and Lanzarote may well be a good choice, Puerto del Carmen is the largest resort, 15 mins in a taxi from the airport, you won't need a car, taxi's are cheap enough if needed

Have a look at TripAdvisor, Owners direct, HomeAway put in your travel dates & bedroom requirements & see what they throw back at you as options

I'll just add though, you may well pay a premium if planning to travel at Easter

We use airbnb all the time any more. Just input the amount of bedrooms, etc you need and see what comes up.
