Hi, we live in an old Victorian house and have woodworm under the stairs and understairs toilet. What is the best course of action? Should we take it on ourselves or get someone in for a quote? We have a dog and would like it done safely but if possible affordably. Would anyone have a recommendation of anyone or how?

Do you know if the damage is recent and ongoing , or there for years. Woodworm can only survive in damp wood, over 18% moisture, usually wood in a heated well ventilated house is 10% or less. It's not difficult to treat woodworm yourself but if there's underlying dampness it needs to be dealt with first. Google woodworm life cycle for information
