Hi All

Looking to see if anyone can spec me a cheap office/light gaming build, will be mostly office use so nothing too loud

600e budget including 24" monitor

Built pc's before but not kept up with latest hardware, appreciate ye're help here

I need everthing besides OS

Would like optical drive and would love SSD if ye could fit that in

Not interested in overclocking

No preference for Intel/AMD

Dont need powerful card, it's just occasional gaming at medium settings.

Can pay card, paypal, bank transfer

A basic build like above (Ryzen 3 1200 / 8gb Ram / 120gb SSD / 1050Ti or RX560) comes in a shade over €600 minus a monitor. Tbh there's not many corners you can cut off that without massively downgrading performance to the point of making the savings counter productive.

You could pick up a few bits off Adverts, a used 750Ti or Radeon 7870 would save you close to a ton I would guess and would still handle plenty at lower serttings.

Doable if you get a 2nd hand HDD (somewhere like CEX where you can get a 500GB drive for €10 with a warranty) and a 2nd hand graphics card - something like a HD7870 or GTX670 for about €70-80 is still pretty OK, be around GTX1050 levels. And a 2nd hand monitor.

TBH if looking at gaming, I'd go 2nd-hand with an i7-2600K system.

Sell the GTX 560 for €30-40, upgrade with either used GTX 770 or new GTX 1050.

Leaves you with €100-140 for a decent monitor.

Don't think I could build cheaper

Not too worried about weak psu, even non external powered cards would do me.

Here's something new that's just over budget and ticks all the boxes. It will be a lot better than any of those similarly priced pre mades but you could probably pick up something second hand with similar or more power for a bit less.

Only problem there is that the A10 is a low-power CPU designed to offer superior integrated graphics to Intel, great for esports and other low-intensity titles on a tight budget or low demand.

Paired with a discreet GPU (the RX460 is pretty OK) and all you're left with is a weak CPU, comparable to a modern Intel Pentium or Celeron.

That said, I think that's an AM4 CPU so should be able to upgrade to a Ryzen CPU down the line.

Bloodbath's suggested build is light years better though overall.

Thats true the cpu is really weak, reading reviews now

Never noticed bloodbath build has Monitor too, thought it had none

That's a very decent price for that build then

Going to add an optical drive and go for 27" monitor

Don't think I need anything else

Gtx 1050 looks pretty good for my needs too
