Looking to join Hollywood Lakes in the new year and wondered what are people's opinions on the course?

I hear it gets quite wet year round so it's a slight concern, albeit all courses suffer from wet conditions after serious rainfall. Played it a while back and remembered a fair bit of water and the course not being overall long (which is a good thing in my eyes). There was a saying all putts drop to the townside!

Know there are several courses around that area but this is within the price budget and convenient to get to.

    It's a course I enjoy playing once a year.

Think the greens are a bit silly when they get them fast, there is just no stopping a downhill putt. Or aiming 6 inches outside the cup from 3 foot.
They were really slow when I played there this year so not sure if they have them fast any more.

Also think they overplanted the trees, it seems a bit harsh to have them a couple of yards apart.

I wasa member for 13 years from about 1999 to 2012. My reasons for leaving were personal at the time.

It's a fine course with a good variety of holes up, down and across hills. As Mike12 says the greens are a bit crazy at times. It has good drainage so although the soil is heavy there was no particular issue with flooding or water logging.

The clubhouse is new but was built at the height of the Celtic tiger and has caused a lot of financial issues. I believe the financial situation has stabilised but I'm not in a position to give any knowledge based opinion.

Billy3sheets is right when he says the financial situation has stabilised. Appears that everything going forward is positive. The length of the course is substantial from the medal tees but the ordinary tees are manageable. The largest gap being the index 1 14th. 642 yards from the medals and 555 yards from the yellow tees.
