    Dear all,
I have recently bought a 2007 mazda6 ,1.8 petrol and I would appreciate your comments on two matters that concern me.
    Car drives very well,
    1) I have noticed the maf sensor is not fixed/screwed into position , will this lead to problems if not fixed in position?
    2) I feel a slight knock in steering column during take off and slow manoeuvres.

Can You please comment on these two issues.

Thank You and happy Christmas & New year.

    Best regards,
    User 97

1 a loose maf isn't good as car will not get the fuel/air mix right.
You can fix this yourself easily. 2 screws https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cprpjEnJg28

2 possibly CV joint or the steering rack. Is it more noticeably when steering wheel is at full lock, either way? CV joints should be done by a mech, it's not for novice DIYers.

Thanks a million Biko for your comments.
I will get it checked out by a professional mechanic.

If the rack is faulty it should be groaning a lot when you're trying to move the steering wheel when the car is parking. I'd be surprised if the rack was faulty in a Mazda but it's definitely not something to be taking a chance on.

    Thanks Captainspeed.
Hope it is not a faulty steering rack. I am going to get it all checked and let You know the result. A recent 1 week ago showed no issues with steering ir engine operation.
