    Hi guys

I'm looking to VRT a UK car. It's first registration is Sept 2008.

In order for me to get a 2 year NCT Cert, must I test it before January '18?
    Or anytime before Sept '18?

NCT website isn't clear on this

    Thank you v much

It's illegal to drive without an NCT so you need to do it after you clear the VRT, so January 2018.

Once it's over 90 days before Sept 2018 you will get 2 years from the date you do the test, if you do it within 90 days you will get 1 year from Sept 2018.
