I'd imagine it's not accurate enough to just put it in a water trough, first calf to drink would never have a cough again and the last one would be lucky to get any of the CTC.
    Doesn't make sense

You might be right about putting the powder on top of the silage. I used the powder years ago but I couldn't remember how I gave it to the animals. I might have taken up the vet wrong today when he was with me. I have a weanling at the moment which has pneumonia. He suggested that I use the brown powder on the remainder of the group. Thanks for your help.

Better to put on the meal so they'll all get a bit

Yeah the ctc powder isn't brown and goes on meal.
    It's yellow in colour

The problem is when You are putting in on feed or silage if there is an animal off form (and he is the one that needs it) he might be slow to eat and eat less so he might not get enough of it. Better to treat individually with an antibiotic if he has pneumonia IMO

Ya the eucalyptus stuff if more preventative than a cure

I am treating the pneumonia animal separately with antibiotics. The powder will be used on the remaining animals who are not that sick. They were in the same span of the shed.

    great stuff--sprinkle on the silage/feed

Just be careful to use enough. Follow the dosage instructions carefully. Not a huge fan of powders on feed as the minute one gets a bit sick they drop off feed. See alot of guys using 1kg for 70 weanlings, that might as well be homeopathy but with the added risk of creating antibiotic resistance. Using too little is like trying to use it as a growth promoter.

Best to feed it on meal.Takes a day or 2 for them to get used to the taste of ctc.they dont notice it then.Ctc chloromed is the one that disolves in milk.
