Unusual way to mount an anmometer

    Spotted this on Ear to the Ground broadcast on Dec 14th, a cup and vane anemometer mounted sideways!

    It's at ~16:50

    The farmer being interviewed reports rainfall and temperature readings to Met Eireann; hopefully wind speed and direction aren't reported as well

    Maybe he is only interested in recording the prevailing wind speed.

    No climate stations don't provide Wind data.

    Very unusual indeed!

    His stevensons screen is in dire need of paint too - temperature recordings could be affected.

    For someone who seems to take recording the weather conditions as seriously as him, that appears to be an unbelievable mistake to make.
