I have a megane 2 saloon. Abs light and service light came on a few days ago. But today I was driving on the motorway and it started swaying from the rear of the car. I have had to abandon the car 40 mins from home. Anyone have any idea what it could be making the car sway so badly

    Cross winds on the motorway?

Either that or something physical may be broken with your suspension or maybe a puncture but I doubt it's related to the light on the dash.

Wasn’t cross winds or puncture. I got off the motorway and took back roads for safety. I doubt it has anything to do with the light as this came out of no where and the light was on the a good bit before this happened. Jacked the car up and nothing seemed loose. Could it be a possible bearing?

After looking at it today the disc is wobbling. Could it be the centre nut loose or bearing?

If the disc is loose with the wheel attached then there is something majorly wrong as the wheel should be holding the disc tight in place, however if you removed the wheel then yes the disc can move about the place and that's normal. For the car to sway about then its most likely a busted shock or broken spring on one side. Bounce both sides of the car at the rear and see if one side appears softer than the other.

Springs and shocks are fine. I should mention on these Renaults the wheels bearing is in the disc and the wheel nuts only go into the disc. The shocks and springs are also separate on these. I know there’s play on a disc but this is a lot of play

That sounds like a hub bearing is breaking up, and it would also explain the ABS warning, the sensor on that wheel may have been damaged if the movement on the bearing is enough to allow the hub to contact the sensor.

If the disc is visibly moving, the problem is severe, and you should give serious consideration to having the vehicle recovered to a garage and not driving it, as you may cause significant damage to the brake systems.

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

Thanks for all the suggestions. It was the bearing in the disc. So replaced the disc and driving fine now.
    Have a good Christmas everyone
