All know there is a good few threads on this.

But was hoping to be enlightened on why so many people go for rads upstairs when they are doing full renovation.

We are doing a full renovation of a dormer Bunglaow

Full modern insulation - should end up at A2 BER

Heating man has come back with a concept of 24 KW condensing boiler underfloor downstairs rads upstairs.

I'll be talking to him this week - but wanted to do homework.

To me this seems a mix match of concept and temperatures ?

We are also considering a HRV system too - this is more to do with smells and damp etc.

Would love any feedback or experience.

Design a good few. Many use rads upstairs, instead of UFH. Mainly to do with laying screed etc. You can use a light insulation and lay the UF pipe on this. 200mm/8 inch spacing is fine. Use a 50mm+ screed or dry mix. some use steel pans to spread the heat but they are dear.
With good insulation and sealing, not a lot of heat will be needed in the bedrooms. That's why some put in rads. Simpler and a little cheaper.

If your refurb is well sealed, I would def use MHRV to prevent staleness and humidity.
