Honda civic strange whoosing noise

    98 civic , What the feck is this noise, its a whoosing noise coming from the back box. You can stand behind the car when someone revs it and hear exactly where its coming from. Its very obvious from inside the car to. There is no exhaust leak anywhere but the car is also more smokey then usual. I tested the head gasket yesturday and it isn't gone. Pulled in off the M50 by carrickmines there earlier and gave it a good rev and obviously more smoke then usual from the back of this thing.. Is my back box broken in the inside or is the CAT gone?

    i'd guess the inside of the box is gone / loose / moving around, which could give a lot more noise, smoke it cause its a 98 civic - every one i've been behind smokes

    You can quickly test the cat by checking the before and after temps.
