Pilot assembly gas fire

Hi. I have an old lpg gas fire that has never worked since the day we moved in. Was going to replace the pilot assembly but the company doesn't make it anymore. They gave me the part number and found one place online that sells it for 50 pounds. My question is would a different oxy pilot work or does it have to be the one…
