I am going out of Ireland for three weeks and have an avensis 2003. I have AAs membership for breakdown assistance .... but just want to know if it is ok to leave the cat as such or should i remove the battery terminals? I have been advised both and im confused. Any suggestions please

Three weeks isn't much. If battery is in otherwise good shape you can just leave everything as is.
Are you leaving car at home or at an airport?
If you disconnect battery terminals will you be able to open car with the key?

If it has double locking don't engage it, other than that worst case would be needing a jump start if battery is low now from low useage and it's left sit in the cold.
