    Hi,
I'm looking to change car from the current Citoren C4 grand picasso I currently have. Mechanics I've talked to all seem to hate the engine in it. They said to beware, as that same engine is in lots of other cars (peugeot, volvo, ford). My query is - when I'm looking at ads on the web, how do I know if the car has that same engine?

    Thanks

Basically anything below with a 1.6 Diesel engine. I think the 2.0 is better

    Ford Focus/ Mondeo 1.6 TDCI
    Volvo S40/ V50
    Volvo S80/V70
    Mini D
    C4/C5/Berlingo
    307/308/207/208/406/407

Quarter, if not better, cars in Ireland have HDi derivative. That's why you will see one in a workshop more often than others...

The pre 2011 16v version was unforgiving, the newer is much better. And if one is paranoid, they can change the turbo oil feeder.

I can’t remember exactly but it wasn’t single digits. I didn’t include vans in that. I was expecting it to be much higher too.

Beep beep.ie isn’t as good for that sort of thing nowadays since they ‘updated’ it.

The check list is as follows,

Is it a 1.6 diesel? Yes.
    Is it VAG group? No.

    It's the PSA engine.

There are exceptions, but not many.
