Gap Between Render & Window Query

    Hi guys,

Would anyone have experience on the best method for sealing the gap between the final render and where it meets the window frame, I guess aesthetically it would have to blend in with the colour tone between the render and frame, my concern is that certain fillers would just discolour over time, I've attached two photos of exactly what I would be dealing with. Any tips or advice is welcomed.

    cheers,
    B

I had something similar with my windows years ago. Just sealed them with Tec 7. Haven't had to go near them since ( and it's paintable)

Hi Dok, the thing is the render is a natural colour so I will not be painting it, is the Tex 7 a white finish? Can you get different tones?

You can get render colour tec7.
That plastering job looks ropey though.
The correct way to finish that imo is to ensure all dpcs sit nice against the window. Scratch coat up to the window with dpc sticking out. Scratch should get decent cover onto the frame. Cut dpc back ensuring plenty overlap onto the frame then final plaster tight into the frame with a good straight finish.
I also like to seal the vertical dpc to the frame before plastering.

    Hi Mickdw,
Thanks for the advice, from the photo, how would you fill the gaps, would you touch up with plastering or use a type of caulk or just go it with Tec7?

Considering what you have there now, I would go with a render colour tec7.
