I'm looking at changing my car soon. Currently driving an amg styled auto 06 c200 kompressor. Got a deal on it and it is has loads of extras and an updated large display with sat nav so seems more modern than it should.

I only drive 5-8k miles per year around the city all week with a few long motorway journeys going places the odd weekend so was thinking of sticking with petrol..but there is sweet FA petrol w204s, e90s, e92 or e60s available in petrol! Let alone decent ones. All diesels.

Would I be opening myself up to trouble going for a 6-9yr old diesel that has just crawled around the city for it's life? What years do dpf filters come into play?

The UK is your best bet - although diesel versions of these cars have comprehensively outsold the petrol equivalents due to company car taxation over the past 15 years just the same way as in Ireland.

Nonetheless, because the UK is a much bigger market and therefore there are so many more cars available for sale, you will be able to find one for sure.

Cheers. I'd have to see roughly how screwed I'd get on vrt. I thought my budget would be below import savings.

I haven't check/really heard of cars ireland, just dondeal. Is this the new auto trader site or something? But even on Donedeal a rough search throws up around 650 diesels while less than 90 petrols with some dodgy specs or out of my budget.
