    Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to ask, I checked the motorcheck report for an Yaris. It looks like the current owner purchased it on 13-Dec-2016.
The road tax says the car is not taxed currently. Also three dates are highlighted in Orange. What does that mean?
The latest expiry date is 30-Sep-2017.
the previous ones were on 28-Feb-2017, and 30 Sep-2016. The three mentioned dates are the highlighted ones.
I suspect the current owner hasn't paid any tax at all? Am I right?
    Please clarify me.
    Regards
    Hago

Have no idea but If your buying the car then don’t worry about it as you are only liable for the tax from the day you buy it and what happened in the past is someone else’s concern.

    Hi Hago
The NVDF database supplied by the Department of Transport to license holders such as Motorcheck contains the expiry dates of tax but unfortunately not the length of the disc. So in this case from the previous expiration dates we can see that the vehicle wasn’t taxed for a certain period as the previous date does not fit either a 3, 6 or 12 month period.
Since the previous date was Feb 2017 and the current date is Sept 2017 we can say that the vehicle was untaxed for either:
    1) the period March 2017
    OR
    2) the period March-June 2017
It is not too much to worry about as it’s a common occurrence in Ireland. However it is worthwhile asking the question of the seller as to the reason why it was untaxed.
If you have any questions feel free to contact us directly at support@motorcheck
    Thanks

So this wouldn’t take into account if the car was back taxed. Does a motorcheck report show if there was an off road notification done?

    Thanks for the explanation.
Can someone please help me to create a new thread? I am trying to ask some questions regarding selecting the gas and electricity supplier.
    Regards
