Ball cock for toilets

    Hi.... had a plumber doing work for me today... he had a quick look at the ballcocks i my 3 toilets... he said 2 need to be replaced... he will install them if i get them... any idea on prices and where i get them? Woodies? B&q? He did a job on both of them but recommended on replacing them on the long run...so i plan on doing it after christmas...

    Not much of a Plumber if he cannot source his own ballcocks or recommend a decent type. :rolleyes:

    Lift the lid of the cisterns and take a couple of pictures of the filling valve. It either connects from the side, or the bottom. Head over to your local plumbing suppliers, Woodies or B&Q and compare like for like.
    Prices for a standard ball cock type about 10 euro, or for better quality, e.g Fluidmaster or Torbeck about 20 euro.

    I thought this myself. Most plumbers would want to source the materials themselves. At least they'd be sure of the quality. There's nothing worse than being asked to fit something really cheap that can break in your hand

    My point, on the extremely rare occasion a customer is buying / collecting the item, I will be giving them the specifications / part number, or I will phone the supplier to have the item set aside for the customer to collect.

    Had one replaced, he also tied another issue in at the callout.
    Ballcock was E30.
    Altogether paid 100 Euro for the whole callout incl. Material and VAT.
