Looks like I'm chatting to myself. I've about three stone to lose. But would be happy with one and a half. Think I'm not in Ketosis yet though.

Hi .... Am on New Weigh .... just completed Day 5 .... going well so far ......object is to kickstart my diet and motivate myself by losing weight quickly ..... hoping to do it for 3 weeks then go back to healthy eating & walking. Anybody on New Weigh too ..... would like your opinions on it and to see how you find it .....

You were on Day 5 three months ago as well...

All food is replaced by 3 nutrient complete products daily
Why why why would you want to replace good, satiating foods with gimmicky shakes?
Hunger is reduced after 3 or 4 days
Replacing food with shakes....the last thing that’ll be reduced is hunger...
A healthy way to reduce weight and keep it off
You won’t keep it off because you’ll learn nothing from using these shakes and will still likely end up with little to no understanding of basic nutrition and CICO (calories in v calories out)
Ideal if you want to lose 1.5 stones (10kg) or more in a reasonable time
Great! You go balls deep into a calorie deficit by replacing meals with the shakes. That 10kg loss will most likely be a combination of mostly water weight and muscle loss as opposed to fat loss as you’ll be so much in a calorie deficit.
But hey, they keep their promise of “weight loss” even though what you want to be aiming for is a reduction in body fat %.

Possibly. Maybe a misread. Apologies if so.

Anyway, why go on this glorified calorie cutting fad before going back to healthy eating and just go to healthy eating?

If you're having problems kickstarting eating healthily, then something like this isn't going to address that

Not possibly.... definetly as that was my first ever post on this thread..... now my last thanks to you..... sadly you seem to have a very negative & cynical view .... which is not a very nice trait.

It's not negative or cynical. You say you will do 3 weeks of ingesting less calories on New Weigh, or whatever it is, and then 'go back to healthy eating and walking'.

Why not just go back to healthy eating and walking now and address why you're not eating healthily now.

If being negative and cynical is how you view someone trying to offer something constructive, then the problem isn't mine.

I think I speak for a lot of people who frequent the Fitness/Nutrition forum when I say Alf is well respected here for his extremely helpful, knowledgeable advice and is only trying to steer you in the right direction, glee.

Still way too harsh on a new poster and no need for that.

Either there was an apology due or there was not. Not “possibly”

Forum should be inclusive not exclusive.

Fair enough. For whatever reason, I read it as a post from 'chesera' hence the reference to a previous post. I did check so at the time and I didn't think I had got it completely wrong.

It seems I did and I apologise unreservedly.

But there was nothing cynical or negative in my response.

You totally misread the poster and owed them an apology.

Instead of this, it was conditional “possibly”

I could see why it would put off someone responding and that’s just not fair.

It read very negative and would scare off people and am not sure why you can’t see that?

Appreciate you give sound advice and it’s not your thing but everyone can have their opinions and should be able to ask for advice without being shut down.

Like I said, I read the name of the poster as being a poster who had posted previously. Not a new poster. So wasn't an attempt to shut down a new poster.

“Like I said” is another passive aggressive response which reads poorly and is un necessary.

It's not. That's your opinion/reading of it, which is fine. But it's not accurate. No hostility or negativity here.

I read it passively aggressive like the urban dictionary.

You’ve got rid of a new poster who felt you were aggressive.

From the outside it read very negative and territorial.

You don’t have to accept that, but that’s how it came across and I don’t know that poster.

I can't really change that now. I have explained why it happened, I was wrong and here we are.

It wasn't negative or territorial. Or intended as such. But if it appeared that way, I can't change that now.

I offer advice with the best of intention. Always have, always will.

And I don’t doubt that for one minute.

Was pointing out how it read.

Totally understand why the new person fcked off which is a pity.

    Need more ppl not less.
