Clunk noise at low speeds in front - '04 Audi A3

I drive a '04 Audi A3. I have noticed recently that a noise has appeared on the passenger side front at low speeds (approx. 20mph - 35kmh). I don't think it matters if I hit a bump or if it's turning but as soon as I hit that speed I hear a "TUNG, TUNG, TUNG...." noise. It sounds like metal on metal. It's funny though over that speed it goes.

I originally thought it might have been the strut mount bearing gone but it doesn't seem to be affected by turning the wheel, just at the described speed. I also thought it might have been a wheel balancing issue but I don't feel any shake in the steering wheel or car. Any thoughts?

Have you checked wheel bearings and CV joints?

Also, check the surface of the tyres...you might have a weak spot on a tyre (happened me last month).

It's not a clicking noise that I'd expect from a CV joint and also I can hear it even when not turning. Similar story for the wheel bearings. I'll get under it over the weekend and do a more thorough investigation including CV joints and wheel bearings. Was just wondering if there was anything that I had to look out for straight away.
