Living in a dark spot with no reasonable cost B/B available.. Currently paying Vodafone €30 a month for a 4G Mifi Unit with 75MB download speed.

Problem is we are limited to 20GB Usage per Month.

Any ideas for a possible cheaper option to get unlimited speed download for similar money?

€20 monthly into a pay as you go phine sim from Three.

You won't get the Vodafone speeds, but it's unlimited .

Depends on what signal you get at your house. But works fine for me.

Dont buy a Mifi though, they're designed for use in a car/hotel etc. If this is your 24/7 connection buy a proper desktop unit.

I am currently trying out the 4G home broadband from Vodafone at €45 per month for 150GB with the option of another 100GB at €10 if the 150 runs out before the end of the month. I have to say the speeds are superb peaking at 70mb and lows of 30 mb. I have DSL also but the speed is only 4mb. I have used the 3 pre pay sim and while daytime speeds are good at around 20mb the evening speeds are pants at about 1 to 2mb. I recommend trying out 3 first as it’s cheap but in my experience the Vodafone 4G speeds are excellent.

I learned about it on the Vodafone forum on boards. There’s a thread about this package. The only downside is you can’t get the add on until you have used all of the 150GB and you have to ring up to add it to your account.

I went ahead with the Vodafone 4G home broadband and am on my second month and so far it has been flawless. The speeds have been very good rarely going below 20Mbs. I have been keeping a close eye on my usage as I am weary of flying through the data allowance.

Ended up going for an ID data card. €30 a month for 60GB I think. Good download speeds with multiple devices attached. Approx 35 Mb download.
