Photos are rubbish, if the toolkit is one of the best things to show about a car then they’re grasping at straws.

    Mileage seems right for years

Personal thing but I hate cream leather seats and trim.

Might be worth seeing if you didn’t have to travel too far, but I wouldn’t cross the country to see it.

Seems honest in fairness and well spec'd for an early Mk5. Being a 1.6 I'd say the asking price is well up for discussion as most will want the 1.4 or 1.9.

Curios that one headlight looks much newer than the other but I wouldnt let it put me off viewing. It may be a long way from home if his daughter is the second owner and she bought it from Beechlawn Motors in Dublin. There may be an honest story but would people usually travel from Clare to Dublin to buy a Golf?

yeah i hear you, its not far from me so might give it a look.

would this be a nippy enough car?

No, they are fairly dead but I'd still rather it to the 1.4.

In fairness if you bought that for €1200-1250 it's be a nice car. The spec makes it. It's worth a shout if it's local.

Thats an FSI to be fair so should be better than the 8 valve.
