Oil Boiler not firing

    Hi,

Hopefully someone can give some advice. Living in a rental property with a Grant 70-90 Condenser boiler. Its located in a garage joined to the house. Both it and the pump are plugged into a double socket (standard double socket you would find inside a house) that appears to have its own RCD.

Yesterday evening it tripped the RCD about 3 times over a 6 hour period. This morning we noticed it had tripped again and when we reset the RCD the boiler is not firing at all. We have already notified Land Lord etc and are awaiting their response. Our concern is that when a repair man comes to investigate he may discover the boiler needs replacing or some other big job is required - causing a delay with the cold weather coming.

Can anyone advise based on the above symptoms what we might be looking at? Would it be worth running an extension lead from another socket to see if the boiler and pump will fire when plugged into that? Tried the reset button etc already.

Hopefully it gets sorted before the cold snap hits. If it might be a quick fix I might hold off buying electrical heaters.

Check the hot water cylinder for any leaks could be something leaking and tripping when it gets hot.
    I presume you have oil.

Hi thanks for the response - yes tank full of oil. No leaks present anywhere in the system.
