What is the best time of year to start introducing VO2 max training? Is now ok or is it better to hold off until new year in favour of sweet spot? Am hoping to do some races in late March to kick off the year. Coming to end of traineroad base program (all sweet spot) and 16 weeks is enough time to fit in a build and specialize program.

Continue with TR as prescribed with a long season you can easily repeat speciality as i will do when needed..

Isn't VO2 max already in Sweet Spot base although not short VO2 work.

Cheers. High volume sweet spot base is all sweet spot work. Had not noticed lower volume plans had VO2 max intervals.
