Just received a call on the landline from a lady with an Indian accent stating that she was calling from VISA Credit Card Payment Department regarding on two unpaid transactions on my card.

Immediately I knew this as a scam call, so I said that i received my statement yesterday with no transactions listed as I'd not used my card in months. Actually I don't have a VISA Credit Card.

The number calling was 046 472 14195. However there was a slight delay between words and I could hear a lot of other noise in the background.

She hung up once I asked her for her name, telephone number and employee ID.

An Indian accent and you immediately suspect a scam before you realise you don't even have a VISA card.:pac:

I can verify this if you just give me your account number and sort code.

Your best bet is to string them along for as long as possible and waste their time.

if your not going to be using your phone for a while you could just leave the line open, at least it'd prevent her from trying to scam someone else for the duration.

Ah here it's not 1982 anymore!

It's nice to have someone call all the same OP.

You know ... those lonely winter afternoons.:( Kids all at school. Adults all at work.

And just when you think you have no friends...

MOD This thread isn't suited to After Hours, it may fall under one of the other sites categories so I am closing for now. OP if you want it moved to another section just let me know.
