    Hello,

Got into a debate on another forum about this:

I remember being told by an alarm company that in order for the guards to be called out, two sensors need to go off.

If one sensor goes off, they guards won't roll.

Is this true or does it vary by station / county?

All monitoring works the same. In order for the Gardai to be called two zones must be triggered within the same activation - it's called a verified alarm.

Example No.1: kid kicks football against your window - alarm activates - monitoring company ring keyholders telling them there's an activation. No Gardai.

Example No.2: Burglar smashes your back door in (first activation) then walks into the hallway where the PIR catches them (second activation) monitoring company alert the Gardai and the keyholders.

At the end of the day Garda response on either of the above is at their discretion.
