Can you advise what happens when there is a credit on a closing account? Both our business account and a personal account were closed and we got statements with the credit amount for both, but as yet have not received a refund.

    Hi Ghekko,

    Thanks for your message.

A credit on a residential account can be applied to future bills, should you open a new Electric Ireland account, or a request can be made to have this amount issued as a cheque refund.

If you would like to request a refund, we can look into this for you here. Could you please send us a private message with the following details?
    • Your full name
    • Your Electric Ireland residential account number
    • Your address while the account was registered with Electric Ireland
    • Your address where the refund should be issued, if different to the address of the account
    • Your contact number and date of birth
    • Confirmation you are the account holder (Yes/No)

We can then look into resolving this for you.

With regards to the business account, we would recommend contacting the Electric Ireland Business Customer Service team on 1850 372 787. They are available from 9am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and would be in the best position to assist you further.

We hope this helps. Should you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Thanks,
    Brige
