Was called for Jury duty this week starting Tuesday couldn’t go due to a training course Tuesday and Wednesday got excused but was asked to attend tomorrow at 10am. Worried now that all the intro stuff would have been done Tuesday with the jury panel and it won’t be re explained tomorrow so I’ll be lost in what’s going on. Where typically do you actually go in the court house in the morning to be selected is there a waiting room for the jury or are the names called in the actual court ? Any info would be much appreciated. It’s in Kilkenny if that makes a difference.

I realize this but I mean where do they pick the jury panel is it actually in the court room or is there another room it’s done in beforehand ?

It's done in the court room, there'll be about 200 people at it, also even if you're picked ya can still not do it, if ya have a good reason.

I wouldnt trust 12 people on a jury who werent smart enough to get out of Jury duty. I have gotten off it three times for three completely different reasons. The real reason is I live 45 miles away from the city where the Jury sits, I get no travel allowance or anything.

Generally you can get out of these things if you have like a wizards hat to wear to it

"I know the defendant and I have a bias against him", "I have a deep bias against the Gardai", That man voted for Donald Trump. Sick not from doctor I have depression mixed with anxiety.

I got off as an member of the FCA, I was at college and for another medical reason. Either way if you read between the lines you can get out of it.

So basically turn up ask which court room it’s in and go in there and wait for them to call names. After this I assume the judge says if we can leave or if we need to come back another day etc.
