Cancelling a 181 order

    Hi

I ordered a new 181 car a few weeks ago, shook on the deal and paid 400 deposit (I have not actually signed any order form/invoice or anything, just have a debit card reciept).

Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances that unfolded today, Im not going to be able to follow through with the sale. The car is a build order with a few options which should be due in the middle of January.

Can I just cancel my order? I understand I'll lose my deposit, thats fair enough, but has the dealer any other recourse? Im going to contact them tomorrow anyway, just want some idea of where I may stand (Never been in a situation like this before).

    Thanks

Worst case scenario is you lose the deposit tbh. And even then some dealers might refund it as goodwill.

And if they do give you back the deposit, be sure and tell folk and give them credit for it.

On your side: I'd say not to lose any time telling them of the change. It can only get harder/ more disruptive for them to cancel the order the later it gets.
