When listing a car for sale it gives an option to enter the code on the tax book. It verifies that you have the logbook I guess, can't see much more use to it myself.

It's a write off check too (Ireland only)

It’s an Irish Category A & B write-off (not allowed be returned to the road) check..... NOT A CATEGORY C OR D (damaged and repairable) CHECK

There isn't an Irish register of CAT C or D in Ireland anyway AFAIK

There is but it’s not shared with anyone that could put it to good use, official c & d data guarded better than the prisoners in mountjoy by an insurance industry looking after their own interests and not caring about consumers.... also government refuse to create legislation to force insurers to share this data to help protect consumers and legitimate dealers alike.

I paid for a greenlight check on a car and they have not come back after 2 working days to say if the car has outstanding finance. Are green light any good or should I have gone to carzone

Never heard of them before Donedeal started having the feature on the ads.

I’d ignore that green light all together. Just look at cars regardless of them having the green light status or not and do a Cartell history check on the ones your interested in.

    Greenlight also offer paid checks.

Green light status on the ad only really tells you that the seller has seen the current registration cert.

Yeah, I remember someone saying on here that they did a Cartell and a Green light and the Cartell had a write off status whereas the Green light didn’t which is why I’d go for Cartell instead.

Greenlight will not verify my car, so I checked the numbers with the motor tax and it's fine, I have it from new with Hutton and Meade. Can't phone done deal to get it sorted out.

    Wouldn't trust Cartell either tbh.
