    The second one.

I realise it will probably be better insulated the second one, but I can get the first one for one fifth the price...

    Need more info

Is this a first floor with attic above or a flat roof extension. Can you give the build up above proposed plasterboard?

hey lads, are these ok for ceiling insulation or is it better to go with these? Also are the second ones much better at retaining heat?

    Thanks!

Neither of these boards will achieve any substantial heat loss prevention on their own . That said I would alway chose polyiso over polystyrene

Thanks for the replies lads. There is another floor above it. The ceiling is pre cast hollow core concrete. Wooden batons attached to that to support the plasterboard ...

    Is this a new house?

no its an old country house converted to hotel in the seventies, being gutted now. the walls are bunker think. Double glazed sash windows in it. There is another floor above it and two below it. Ceiling height is 305cm on the floor in question. I guess about 250cm the floor above.

Need heating engineers etc in next. The only thing original with the house is outside, everything else was left go to ruin decades ago.

So now need to also contemplate which way to heat it etc!
