    Hi
Just wondering if that site is good for buying a phone. Im looking to buy a Samsung galaxy s8 unlocked no bills and I'm trying to figure out where to buy it at a good price? Any recommendations? Thank you

Glad you've asked this, I've been looking at same site for a while. There do seem to be a few good reviews on here regarding them.
They are very cheap for their phones, I'm looking at a HTC U11/LG G6/Samsung S8.
Other reviews I've found online are a bit mixed, but mostly good.
I had come accross another site previously which looked good too, ONEdigital. Until I read up about them, they were Hong Kong based and seem to sometimes deliver and sometimes not.

Just a word of warning regarding eglobalcentral.eu.

I ordered 2 phones from them last month and used the free shipping offer. Unfortunately DPD " lost them " in there Athlone hub and I didn't get them.

That obviously wasn't eglobalcentral fault but the free shipping which if you read the small print negates eglobalcentrals responsiblity should they go missing . It does say in the small print that they will facilitate you with claiming from the couriers insurance but so far they have been less than helpfully and have not replied to various e.mails I have sent them over the last ten days.

DPD will not deal directly with me either as the contract forvcarriage is with eglobalcentral.

I should have read deeper in to the small print and paid for insurance but I also wonder of eglobalcentral would have had better communication if I had. Reading a few comments online about them I doubt it. They are very good prices and are great if things go according to plan but are a disaster if they don't go well.

That's my story of woe and of warning.

    Good luck

I got an LG V20 from them paid for dispatched and received within a week so nothing but good from me.

It was 2 LG v20's that I ordered from them that went missing. Really want the v20. Great phone at a good price.

I am tempted to try again if I can get my money back for the two I didn't get.

    Fingers crossed.

I bought a V20 from them in August and it arrived within about 10 days without issue. I didn't take the insurance so maybe I was lucky. Was definitely the best price around at the time.

Some people in the Photography forum have had niggles with them of late. Might be a case of great unless anything goes wrong then not so good.

Ordered two phones on the 30th October (insured tracked delivery), which represented a Saving of about €150 on Amazon prices, which in my view, was worth the risk of having to go chasing lost orders. The order didn't ship until the 9th November, and arrived on the 15th. So, I had a good experience, though I ordered well ahead of xmas, on the basis that there was a significant risk that something could go wrong with the order. So if it's an xmas gift, order soon and be aware that it's not as reliable as some of the more regulated sites.

Well I took the plunge and ordered me the HTC U11. Fingers and everything else crossed. It was a good buy, got the version with 6GB ram and 128GB of storage in Solar Red. Cheaper than Amazon.

I'm very tempted to buy. What would the insurance cover on the delivery ? I can't seem to see these terms.

It covers loss or damage to the goods, if you go to bottom of main page on left there is a link to 'shipping and insurance'. Whether its worth it or not I don't know. I chose to use it and paid by PayPal to give myself as good a chance as possible should anything go wrong.

I ordered the Moto G5 plus recently and received it a week later. Great phone. Very happy with the price paid too.

There are usually discount codes around and this saved me another 5%.

If you enter the code 'BUYBE4LEAVE' that gives you 5 or 6 euro off too. It asks you to enter an email address to get a code, but whatever email you enter it always gives that same code so can be used again and again.

Well I went into town and the phone had dropped down to 610.00 so I got it then. Would have saved 8 euro buying there. I will try it in the future maybe for something smaller but wasn't willing to try it when spending 600 plus. Glad to see it has worked out for many. Yeah read up on the terms covers loss upto 10 days if you haven't received phone from time of dispatch. Doesn't say how long the claim could take to process.

What does the phone do that one half the price doesn't?

It's the phone I wanted. Doesn't matter what It can do. That's irrelevant to my query. Thanks.

Just to fill you in, my phone arrived yesterday evening. Delivery is slow, but that may in part be due to the time of year. As long as it got here though I was happy. Love the phone so far, it's the HTC U11 in solar red. Looks real nice. Was a really good price for it too, there are 2 versions, one with 4GB ram and one with 6GB ram. I got the 6GB version with 128GB of storage for less than what any of the shops were selling the most basic. The colour is also difficult to get and often a network exclusive.
Can't believe the difference to my old phone, which was a Samsung S3 mini around 3yrs old. It had almost stopped completely, takinganything up to 2 mins to load Facebook!
You must be pleased with the S8 too, I was torn between that and the HTC that I got.

When I bought my HTC U11 last July it came in a package marked - "Generic Speaker - €18", didn't get charged anything thankfully.

The majority of stuff gets through without getting hit.

I ordered an LG V20, something happened with customs in France. Took 3 months but I eventually got my money back through paypal. Eglobal a nightmare to deal with and stopped responding completely after a few emails. If everything goes well it's great but if not just make sure you ordered using paypal and keep records of all correspondence/proof of postage etc.

Slightly off topic, but depending on the phone, there are other EU warehouse websites (Honorbuy being one) which will 99.99% have no issues with paying vat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,290 ✭✭✭Bikerguy

Guys read the terms and conditions - Vat

Eglobal is advertising final price and there will be no VAT so all people talking custom charges or vat are not saying truth.

Eglobal are using europe hub so ua as customers are not getting hit by VAT.

Either way the final price is clearly defined in T&C on website. Even mentioning if there is any charge above advertising price eglobal will be responsible. And will refund. Apart of lost parcels which is not eglobals fault there is nothing but positive feedback. Genuine products.

My advise is use paypal and enjoy the free ride.

Hint: i dont work for them...but i wanted to share this before i see people saying you will get hit BIG in VAT...
