Architect's role?

    Quick and very basic query....

What is an architect's role regarding deciding on a heating system for a house? As part of a major house renovation we need a new heating system and our architect has said he has no role to play in this decision and won't entertain any discussions regarding what would be the best system for the house.

Is this normal? If so who do people turn to for an independent view on the appropriate heating system for a house?

    Many thanks.

You need an M&E person or a good plumber.
Most designers will have an understanding hat a heating system needs to go in but in regards to the design of it, that’s not the job. Slight variations may arise to facilitate the heating system, pipe work, vertical pipes etc

Your architect at the very least should offer advice on any wall moving or shape changes to facilitate the mech & Elec guys design.

Kceire Many thanks for your reply and guidance here. I hadn't realise that this was the case. I'll go looking for an M&E person for guidance so. Cheers.
