LPT on new build

We recently moved into our new build and demolished an existing old cottage that we were living in on same site.

We had been paying LPT on the cottage.

We have received this years letter from revenue for payment for same value as last year.

The new build is a lot bigger and more valuable than the old cottage.

Are we liable for LPT anymore and if so, based on new or old house?

This link says it be must bought from a developer to be exempt:
    https://www.revenue.ie/en/property/local-property-tax/exemptions/new-or-unused-property-purchased-from-a-builder-or-developer..aspx

Not sure if this applied to us.

If you didn't buy from a developer then you're liable for LPT. Sorry! :-(

Give the people in the LPT section of Revenue a call to see how to proceed, they're fairly helpful.
