Topshop Tall Range

Topshop have a tall range which is great. I’m 5’9” (not even that tall) and I find the “normal” Topshop dresses barely cover my arse. Also the arms aren’t long enough on coats etc. It’s very annoying. Can’t even imagine how short the clothes in the Petite range are but I guess they are for shorter people.

But what I find annoying is that my local Topshop in Cork city doesn’t stock the tall range and rarely stock jeans that are longer than a 32” leg. Pretty sure they used to stock the Tall range a few years ago. They still have a nice range of Petite clothes though. Is there really no demand for Tall clothes compared to Petite clothes? I know I can buy online but then I must pay for delivery.

Do the Topshops in Dublin stock the Tall range? Are there no Tall people in Cork? I know this really should be an email for me to send to Topshop. But I want to see if other Topshop stores in Ireland stock the tall range and what people think about the demand for Petite vs Tall clothes in this country...

I don't get this either. To be fair there used to be 3/4 places with specific Tall ranges in Limerick (Dorothy Perkins, Top Shop & New Look)...Top Shop is no longer here and the others don't seem to do them anymore. Even getting any longer length trousers is a struggle, it's all ankle grazers or cropped in stadard sizes.
I loved the Top Shop Tall range, cause their jeans are fab, I still have some I got over ten years ago when there was Top Shop tall here! I like a longer sleeve too....nothing stopping me buying on line to be fair but it is nice to be able to try stuff on as I am kind of between sizes at them moment.
I thought that younger people are supposed to be getting taller, so am surprised that the availability is getting less and less than it was years ago. Plus size and Petite seem to be much more popular offerings, so must be where the demand is.

I agree with you both, there does seem to be a lack of instore tall ranges compared to a few years ago. I'm not that tall (5' 8") but I have very long legs (36" inside leg) so I have resigned myself to shopping online when it comes to jeans, trousers and don't get me started on short dresses; although micro short dresses seems to be the trend at the minute they look so wrong on me as all you see are legs and a wee short body sitting on top!!
Would love to see all brands having a proper tall range instore and not just the obligatory 2 style 2 colour effort that it there at the minute.

Topshop 34'' leg jeans are usually available in at least three colours of the main styles in anything more than a tiny store, no reason a store the size of Cork wouldnt have them, have you asked in there?

Petite covers the younger teenage market as well as shorter people thats why its far more commercially viable than Tall.

This really annoys me too, I live in the UK so shops do still sometimes do the Tall ranges but there is always a lot less stock compared to the Petite range. I've gone into shops in the past and the have a petite range but no Tall range. It really annoys how bad we can be catered for, petite people can roll up sleeves etc, tall people can't magic up fabric from nothing!

As least the online retailer have got better at stocking Tall ranges, I know that not what you asked for OP, but just wanted to sympathise with your frustration!

Yes it's great to be able to try things on before buying them. Especially jeans as jeans in the same style in the same shop often don't fit. And yes people are supposed to be getting taller.. makes no sense.

They are tiny! I've often had to ask the shop assistants if something is a top or a dress. :o

In the Cork store I rarely see a 34" leg in my size (either 28 or 30 waist). I've asked the staff and they just say that most the 34" leg jeans are jeans that are online purchases that have been returned.

I suppose the younger teenage market kinda makes since. Although I stopped growing at 13.

I was in Edinburgh there a few years ago and was delighted with the Tall range. Was still only a tiny section but was like a treat! And the sterling prices were much better. But yes, very annoying.

Seems odd, all the basic jeans e.g. Jamie black, Jamie MDT, Joni black etc are to be found in almost all stores in a 34 leg, Cork is a large store and that doesnt sound right to me.

It's really frustrating the most Irish shops have stopped stocking their tall ranges. I know they can be ordered online but it's a bit of a gamble. I'm 6ft and often waists of dresses are too high on me, even in the tall range.
Most shops still have their petite section though, which slightly irks me.
