i am looking at a 2014 car to buy and import from the UK - however on the speedo clock there is no KMs only miles - Is this and could this become an issue for me for example re NCT at a later date?

    thank you

What car is it? Most modern cars will let you change from miles to km through the car setup options

I don't think it will cause an issue with NCT. I've two imports both with Miles on clocks and I've NCTd without issue.

The analog speedo clock on a UK imported BMW should be in mph and the smaller inner circle should be in kph. And I've put UK imported BMWs with this through NCTs with no issues.

There is no inner circle on the speedo / miles only

Nct is interested if a car is road worthy - they don't care whether it has miles or km on the dash.

Got a photo of it because my UK imported BMW has mph and kph (inner circle).

If its a high spec F10 or F30 it could have 6WB instrument cluster which is completely programmable.

I don't believe that this is the case. All cars made after a certain date must be in Kilometres. It's the same bringing a car to the UK. It must be in miles before you can register it.

New cars sold here only need to be in kph. If it's a second hand import they don't need to be converted.

Possibly has the digital clocks that were an optional extra on them back then. It may be possible to switch it between mph and kph in the iDrive menu otherwise as you said it may need coding.
