    That 8250u is a quad core as well. Older U series processors were only dual core so this should be a fairly powerful machine.

    Clock speed of each core is lower than the dual cores so overall power output isn't a massive improvement on the 7th gen (should do better on battery though.

    E.g:
    i5-8250u 1.6ghz x 8 (4 cores hyperthreaded): 12.8ghz base
    i5-7200u 2.5ghz x 4 (2 cores hyperthreaded): 10.0ghz base

    Definite improvement there, although if you're running it out to necessitate the turbo on a regular basis, you probably should consider a more powerful processor anyway.

    Also with 8th gen being fresh off the press they'll carry a hefty premium over 7th gen until early next year at the least.
