    Hello,

I'm going to be collecting my Nintendo 64 in a couple of days and I'm just wondering what the graphics look like on large screen TVs.

We have a 40 inch LCD. Will it make the games look woeful? Are they better on a smaller screen? Or does it make no difference?

I'm collecting it from my parents house and just wondering it I should also take the old portable TV before it is thrown out.

    Regards

Do new tv's even have the right connections to let you hook an N64 up to? I imagine it'll look absolutely awful, yes.

You're probably better asking the same question over in the Arcade & Retro forum here. The folks over there will be able to help you out no problem.

I've googled N64 original parts and it will hook up to our TV.

FYI, you can buy a modified S-Video cable online for about a tenner, which will plug into your modern TV and make it look semi-respectable, assuming your TV has S-Video. Otherwise, try get the official scart cable off eBay.

N64 doesn't support RGB Scart. You have to get a US or Japanese console and mod it for RGB. You can't mod RGB to a European console, except very specific and rare models.

This is what I got myself:
    http://consolegoods.co.uk/

Click N64 down the left, and see the "N64 S-Video & AV cable - PAL version" for £7.90.
