It depends. Do you want to use a HSE registrar (mon-Fri) or another celebrant - Humanist or Spiritualist. 6 months out could be an issue as a lot are already booked up for 2018

Contact the birth, death and marriages office in the area you want to get married in and they will tell you whether they are available or not. But just keep in mind that an awful lot of the more regional offices only have the office open for ceremonies one day a month and not all registrar's are very accomodating if you want them to travel to a location on your chosen date.

Zippy I'm a HSE Registered Solemniser. The main categories (besides HSE Registrars & Catholic Priests) are Interfaith Ministers, Humanists and Spiritualists. (I'm and Interfaith Minister, so I perform ceremonies for people of all faiths and none). If you'd like me to check availability for your date please feel free to PM me, and you'll find the full list of Registered Solemnisers here:

    https://www.welfare.ie/en/downloads/RegisterOfSolemnisers.pdf

Just be careful, becasuse a lot of people are setting themselves up as Celebrants now, even using the term "Civil Celebrant", but they cannot do the legal part. YOu need a HSE Registrar or HSE Registered Solemniser if you cant your ceremony to be legal on the day.

    Hope that helps!

    :-) <3
