F2000 Modem Management

Apologies if this has been asked & answered before.

I have an Eir F2000 that won't accept incoming ping requests to its external I.P. address. I believe that this is a security 'feature' that is automatically enabled on the F2000.

I have disabled the firewall and it still wont allow the modem to answer ping requests from outside my network.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks

There is an "Enable ICMP flood protection" setting in Network Security. Have you tried disabling this? This is something of a guess on my part as I haven't tried it and am unsure if it is what your looking for.

Ignore that previous post it doesn't work.

What does work though is in ACL under Network Security click edit on ICMP and set it to WAN. Click Save and Ping should now work.

I'll try that when I get a free hour when I can reset the unit. Thanks.

The ACL solution worked for me on an eir FTTH connection so should do for you also.
