Can I get JSB from illness benefit?

    Hi,

    I am currently on illness benefit for about 5 weeks and will be for another month at least. I was working before this for about 15 months. Will I be able to get Job Seekers Benefit straight away after this while I look for another job or will I need to wait the 9 weeks as I left work without being made redundant?

    Happened to me in 2012 and it linked right away...no waiting period.

    how did it work out for you,did you apply for jsb after your final cert and had you to wait to get jsb pay? ps does the length of time on illness benefit affect the length of time on jsb. also is the money received on illness benefit related to your income of 2 years previous.
