Knocking front left/veers to right?

Hi all. I won't post up model etc because It's not my car and I have just went on a test drive. 8 years old. 115km on clock.

When changing gear and applying accelerator, there is a knocking which appears to come from under front left side. Sounds like a light but forceful hammer tap. It seems like the car wants to move forward, but something is loose and is playing catch up and thus doing the knocking.

Noise only happens when doing that manoeuvre on the straight.

And when accelerating, the car veers significantly enought to the right?

I know I'm asking the impossible question, and a proper mechanic would need to assess what's going on. But trying to assess what it might be and how much to fix. I'm not even sure it's worth paying to get a mechanic to check it, and move on to something else.

    Any comments appreciated.

    Thanks

Sounds like a wishbone bushing is gone, allowingvthe wishbone to move/twist forward under load and relax when you decelerate.
Totally depends on car wishbones are circa 100€ plus say 50 labour... tracking then aswell.

I'd wonder what else would need to be fixed. Something like that could be fixed to get a better price, but as it stands, I'd wonder what else is wrong with it that made the seller not bother to fix even that?
