Here's one for Yiz......( and perhaps for the OTHER NTA as well ?)

It appears now, that Ireland has two Traffic and Transport related bodies operating under the same banner....which,I suppose, kinda typifies exactly where we are in the these matters...?

    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/taxi-ban-due-to-new-luas-a-backward-step-nta-36330986.html

Taxi ban due to new Luas 'a backward step' - NTA

Further reading underlines the absurdity of the situation, particularly when the experience since BXD Tram Test running commenced is underlining exactly why Taxi's have to be excluded from the Dawson St-Westmoreland St alignment.
However, Tony Roe, the chairperson of the National Transport Assembly (NTA), expressed concerns in relation to any ban on taxis using the busy area.

"If taxis are banned in that area, it would definitely be a backward step. It would jeopardise the safety of the travelling public," Mr Roe stated.

If Taxi's are allowed share the space, then both the LUAS and the Bus routes fail.

It comes down so a simple question as to whether c.€750 Million was spent in order to maintain the tradition of 17,000 self-employed Taxidrivers OR to improve the Public Transport options of several hundred thousand people each day.

I guess it will come down to the NTA to make the final call on the issue ....only question is...WHICH NTA  .

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

One is a body, one is a talk shop, bit of a difference.

Pretty certain the assembly is actually supposed to be the NTAC (National Transport Assembly Committee) to prevent confusion between the body and the assembly.

It seems they are the National Transport Assembly of Ireland (NTAI) and it is a representative group for professional drivers. One of their big talking points is other drivers pretending to be professional drivers.

Why have you emphasised 'MAN' in your title?
    NTA gets new ChairMAN

The snippet you quoted from the indo clearly says 'Chairperson'. Why not just use what's in the article?

Something has to be done with taxis. They can't stay when the tram comes. Its already past a choking point without the trams

perhapse because, a man is exactly what he is? doesn't matter anyway, the thread is about the confusion between 2 bodies.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.

    No point leaving this open.

Did a quick search and they date back to at least 2011 but I could find nothing too quickly from before the NTA proper was established.
