I think my head gasket is on its way out..

I keep having to replace the water in the coolant every morning of up to 2.5 litres of water.. their is no sign of any leaks.

Friend of mine who knows about cars said it's more than likely a head gasket issue to get it sorted before engine goes..

Does anyone know the best place to get a head gasket and cheapest if it is in case the head gasket that's on the way out?

Is there white/yellow gunk under the oil cap?
    Is the coolant murky/smelly?
Does car smoke at all on startup and/or driving?

All that water has to go somewhere and 2.5 litres is a lot to be able to escape through a head gasket in a single day...

Is your oil level normal? 2.5 litres a day is a huge amount to lose. That level of leakage with a head gasket failure you'd know about it.

I'd trace all the pipes. There must be a leak somewhere...

No white or yellow under the cap..

    Coolant seems fine smell wise

And no smoke either.. my mate did find an air lock in the engine last week.. not sure if it's at of air locking again?

It's happening about 2 weeks now

Oil level seems perfectly normal.. I must get someone to check all the pipes.. I know nothing about the engines

Take it to a mechanic. It sounds more like a leak but you'll ruin it by driving on

Its not the head gasket anyway, if it was, and with that amount of water loss, engine oil would be a creamy colour, and oil level would be showing high. Park it on a dry surface and see if there are any wet patches on the ground, or on the carpet underneath the dash, where the heater is. 90% its a leak some where.

Get them to diagnose and explain the fault to you rather than them just saying it could be head gasket failure.
