Using dashcam footage to report dangerous driving

I was on my morning commute and noticed a taxi overtaking a queue of traffic (about 6 cars myself included) by just driving down the other side of the road and pulling in front of them at the end. Have it on the dashcam clear as day with reg and taxi number. I'd like to submit it to the guards but at the same time, the hassle of court appearance to give a statement... I presume this is what needs to happen?

They should have an email address or something for anonymous footage such as this

    Call traffic watch.

You will have to give a statement to the local garda station (arranged at your convenience, do it on the way home some day) but the chances of going to court are very small. When the garda calls them with evidence of them in the wrong only nutters contest and get themselves a heavier penalty.

As video evidence can be altered, they need someone to give evidence that it is a true version of the events that happened.

Am I missing something as this sounds like he was just overtaking? Did he cross a continuous white line or did he endanger oncoming traffic? Did he break any other traffic laws?

If not, not sure what the dangerous driving was.

I will do this often at Foster's avenue, after the traffic lights (heading towards the Radisson).

There might be a bunch of cars lined up before the lanes have split out, but its a broken line and the oncoming traffic are controlled by lights, it is safe to overtake the lot and then take my place in the empty turning lane.

Many other places like this where it is safe and legal to skip a bunch of traffic.
