    Hi

i'm trying to source a replacement lead but they don't seem to be readily available

Is there an irish store online that stocks them?

    thanks

Dunno , but do you need the exactly same one though? It's just a wire with a audio jack on one end. Try ebay , alliexpress is good for that type of thing as is banggood.

Edit: This is just an example of what you can get, the point is they can be used on any headphone. Search around for different colours,
    lengths etc https://www.banggood.com/3_5mm-MMCX-Imitated-Silver-Plated-Earphone-Cable-with-Mic-for-Shure-p-1208522.html?rmmds=detail-left-hotproducts&cur_warehouse=CN

It appears to be one with an audio jack at both ends.

What do you mean both ends?

I thought they were all the same at both ends

The reason i asked about the specific lead is i believe the original lead acts as a cord grip at the headphone end

My apologies for not being clear. I was pointing out that the cable suggested by AllForIt has a 3.5 mm audio jack at one end but has two terminals at the other end to attach separately to Left and Right earpieces.

As you will know this is not how the 485's are designed, but other Sennheisers do have Left and Right connectors. Depending on which model, it can be a bespoke connector rather than the generic 3.5 mm audio jack. Look at pictures of the cables for the HD650 or the HD800 as examples.
